A name used for several species of stork; especially Jabiru mycteria of Central and South America; also the saddle-bill stork (Ephippiorhyncus senegalensis) from S Africa, and the black-necked stork (Ephippiorhyncus asiaticus) from India to N Australia. (Family: Ciconiidae.)
