Jockey Club

The controlling body for horse racing in Britain, founded c.1750 at the Star and Garter Coffee House, Pall Mall, London. In 1968 the Jockey Club and National Hunt Committee amalgamated.

The Jockey Club was, until April 2006, responsible for the day-to-day regulation of United Kingdom horse-racing.
