Ice hockey player, born in Montreal, Quebec, SE Canada. A member of the Pittsburgh Penguins from 1984, in 834 National Hockey League matches he scored 683 goals and 966 assists. He was All-Star MVP in 1985, 1988, and 1990, and Hart MVP in 1988, 1993, and 1996. He retired in 1997, but returned in 1999 after buying the Pittsburgh team.
