Menander - Works

Greek comic playwright, born in Athens, Greece. He wrote more than 100 comedies, but only a few fragments of his work were known until 1906, when a papyrus containing 1328 lines from four different plays was discovered in Egypt. In 1957, however, the complete text of the comedy Dyskolos (‘The Bad-Tempered Man’) was brought to light in Geneva.
