Michael East

Composer and organist. He probably spent several years in the service of the Lord Chancellor, and was subsequently organist of Lichfield Cathedral. His works include church music and madrigals, and he was a contributor to The Triumphes of Oriana, the madrigal collection dedicated to Queen Elizabeth I in 1603.

Michael John East (born: January 20, 1978 in Reading, England) is a middle distance athlete.

He nearly added to his medal tally when finishing third at the 2004 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Budapest, Hungary only to find himself disqualified for interfering with the run of the Kenyan Laban Rotich.

as of 31st July 2006 he is ranked 29th int he world for 1500m


Note: "Michael East" is also the name of a Baroque composer who lived from 1580 to 1648.
