Nick Faldo - Results in major championships

Golfer, born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, SE England, UK. He had early successes in winning the Professional Golf Association championships in 1978, 1980, and 1981, and in 1987 won the Open Championship at Muirfield, UK, in appalling conditions, winning again in 1990 and 1992. In 1989 he won the US Masters, successfully defended his title in 1990, and won it again in 1996. His 23 Ryder Cup wins (1977–97) are a record, and in 2006 he was chosen to captain the European Ryder Cup team in 2008. He was honoured with the inaugural Professional Golfers' Association Recognition Award in 2003 for outstanding services to golf. An autobiography, Life Swings, appeared in 2004.
