Niels Viggo Bentzon

Danish composer and pianist. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and had been a reader there since 1960. His compositions include opera, symphonies, ballets, piano concertos, and chamber music.

Niels Viggo Bentzon (Copenhagen, August 24, 1919—Copenhagen, April 25, 2000) was a Danish composer and pianist. From 1938 to 1942, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. He then taught at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus (1945-1950) and at The Royal Danish Academy (1950-1988). These include 24 symphonies, operas, ballets, concertos, string quartets, and many piano works.
