Octavia

Sister of the emperor Augustus, distinguished for her beauty and virtue. On the death of her first husband, Marcellus, in 40 BC she consented to marry Mark Antony to reconcile him and her brother; but in 32 BC Antony divorced her and forsook her for Cleopatra.

Octavia was the name of three women, two of the Julio-Claudian dynasty of ancient Rome:

Octavia Major, or Octavia Thurina Major, elder half sister of Octavia Minor Octavia Minor, or Octavia Thurina Minor, the full sister of Caesar Augustus, younger half sister of Octavia Major Claudia Octavia, the daughter of Claudius and first wife of Nero
