Novelist, playwright, and humorist, born in Besançon, NE France. A workman who became a lawyer, he made his literary debut with La Revue Blanche (1891). He wrote many plays and playlets with grotesque characters, such as L'Anglais tel qu'on le parle (1899) and Triplepatte (1905). His novels included Les Mémoires d'un jeune homme rangé (1899).
Paul Bernard was born in London, England on 20 June 1929, and died there on 25 September 1997.
His TV direction credits include Coronation Street, The Tomorrow People, Z Cars and the Doctor Who stories Day of the Daleks (1972),The Time Monster (1972) and Frontier in Space (1973).
