Aurora (mythology)

The Roman name of the goddess of the dawn, equivalent to the Greek Eos.

Aurora was the ancient Roman equivalent of Eos, the ancient Greek goddess of the dawn.

Aurora renews herself every morning at dawn and flies across the sky, announcing the morning's arrival.

One of her husbands was Tithonus, whom she had initially taken as a lover. Aurora asked Zeus to grant immortality to Tithonus.

In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (i.i) Montague says of his lovesick son Romeo
