Wallingford Riegger - Works

Composer, born in Albany, Georgia, USA. He studied at Cornell University, the Institute of Musical Art, New York City, and Berlin, and went on to hold posts at Drake University and Ithaca Conservatory, NY. His works, which show the influence of Schoenberg's ‘12-note’ system and his German training, received little attention until the performance of his third symphony in 1948, after which he was increasingly recognized. He wrote extensively for orchestra and for chamber music combinations.

Wallingford Riegger (29 April 1885 - 2 April 1961) was an American music composer, well known for orchestral. He was born in Albany, Georgia, but lived much of his life in New York City.
