An annual lawn tennis competition involving professional women's teams from the USA and UK. It was first held in 1923, and named after the former US player Hazel Wightman (née Hotchkiss) (18861974). It was scrapped in 1992, due to the overwhelming superiority of the Americans, and consequent lack of commercial support.
