Actress and director, born in Stockholm, Sweden. She began her career in 1949 as a film extra, and is best known for her roles in many Ingmar Bergman films, such as The Seventh Seal (1956) and Persona (1966). As a theatre actress she has been attached to both the Malmö Municipal Theatre and the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm. Her later stage successes have been at Dramaten, where she also began directing in the early 1990s. She has been the recipient of many awards, including the British Academy Award for Best Foreign Actress (1971) for her part in The Touch.

Bibi Andersson (born 11 November 1935 in Stockholm) is a Swedish actress.
Bibi Andersson studied acting at the Terserus Drama School and at the legendary Royal Dramatic Theatre School in Stockholm. After completing school, she agreed to join the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, which she remained a member of for 30 years. More Bergman collaborations followed, as well as working with John Huston (The Kremlin Letter: 1970) and Robert Altman (Quintet: 1979). She made her debute in American theatre in 1973 with a production of Erich Maria Remarque's "Full Circle". In 1990 she worked as a theatre director in Stockholm. In the late 1980s and early 1990s Andersson worked primarily in television and as a theatre actress, working with Bergman among others.
