A bird related to gannets, native to tropical and subtropical seas; streamlined, with a colourful pointed bill. It catches fish by diving vertically into the water; air sacs beneath the skin of its face absorb the shock of impact. (Genus: Sula, 6 species. Family: Sulidae.)
