Charles Tilly - Bibliography

Sociologist, born in Lombard, Illinois, USA. He studied at Harvard and taught at institutions including the University of Michigan (1969–84) and the New School for Social Research (1984), where he directed the Center for Studies of Social Change. He combined sociological, political, and historical analysis in his studies of early capitalism, war, and social action. His works include The Contentious French (1986).

Tilly attended school at Harvard and Oxford before teaching at University of Delaware, Harvard University, the University of Toronto, University of Michigan, the New School, and Columbia University, where he now is the Joseph L.
