Christopher Lambert - Biography, Filmography

Film actor, born in New York City, USA, and brought up by French parents in Geneva. He began to study acting at the National Conservatory in Paris, but left after three years. He then appeared in a number of French films before starring in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan (1984). Other films include the Highlander series (1985, 1991, 1994), Mortal Kombat (1995), Arlette (1997), Resurrection (1999), and Absolon (2003).

Early life

Lambert was born in Great Neck, New York.

Career

Director Hugh Hudson cast him in the title role of Greystoke - The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984).

Lambert was considered to play Tintin when Steven Spielberg was planning a movie adaptation in the mid-80's.

Private life

Lambert was married to Diane Lane from 1988 to 1994.
