Film-maker, born in Geneva, Switzerland. He worked as a producer in Suisse Romande television, and after two successful films Le Fou (1970) and L'Invitation (1973), he made films in France, studying the lives of seemingly insignificant characters, as in Pas si méchant que ca (1975), La Dentellière (1977), and La Provinciale (1981).
