crabeater seal

A true seal (Lobodon carcinophagus), native to the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic; teeth with deeply notched margins, forming a sieve when mouth is shut; eats krill (despite its name); fastest true seal on land (up to 25 kph/15 mph); one of the world's most numerous large mammals (may be 15 million individuals).
