Dame Millicent Fawcett

Women's rights campaigner, born in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, E England, UK, the sister of Elizabeth Garrett Anderson. Keenly interested in the higher education of women and the extension of the franchise to her sex, she was made president of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (1897–1919).
