Daphnis - Daphnis, Franck

In Greek mythology, a Sicilian shepherd, half-brother of Pan, who was loved by a nymph. He did not return her love, so she blinded him. He became the inventor of pastoral poetry. In another story he would love nobody; when he died, all the beings of the island mourned him.
