Ewan McGregor - Filmography, Discography

Actor, born in Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland, UK. At age 16 he joined the Perth Repertory Company, then studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. His first important role was in the television series Lipstick on Your Collar (1993), and feature film success followed with Shallow Grave (1994) and Trainspotting (1996). Later films include Brassed Off (1997), Little Voice (1998), Moulin Rouge (2000), and Miss Potter (2006). He starred as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars episodes The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002), and Return of the Sith (2005). His theatre work includes the West End production of the musical Guys and Dolls (2004–5). In 2005 he published Long Way Round, co-written with Charley Boorman, an account of their around-the-world journey by motorbike.
