Flora Lewis
Journalist, born in Los Angeles, California, USA. A long-serving foreign correspondent for the New York Times, she was Paris bureau chief in the 1970s and later, as chief foreign affairs columnist, she was widely known for her independent-minded views. From 1994 she worked as a syndicated columnist and among her books was Europe: Road to Unity (1992).
Flora Lewis (25 April 1918—June 2, 2002) was an American journalist.
Lewis was born in Los Angeles and was a 1941 summa cum laude graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
She was foreign correspondent and diplomatic correspondent for The New York Times from 1972 until her death from cancer.
