Sculptor, ornamentalist, and architect, born in Antwerp, N Belgium, the brother of artist Frans (156070). He studied sculpture under Giovanni da Bologna, visiting Rome c.1538. Most remarkable among his works are the Town Hall, Antwerp (156166) and the marble reredos at Tournai Cathedral (1572).
