George Earle Buckle

Journalist, born in Bath, SW England, UK. He was editor of The Times from 1884 to 1912. He completed Monypenny's Life of Disraeli (1914–20), and edited six volumes of Queen Victoria's Letters (1926–32).

George Earl Buckle (June 10, 1854 - March 13, 1935) was an English editor and biographer.

His father was a rector, and canon and precentor of Wells Cathedral, and his mother was the sister of the philologist John Earle.

He joined the editorial staff of The Times, and was editor from 1884 to 1912.

In 1885 Buckle married Alicia Isobel, the third daughter of the novelist James Payn.
