Gino Severini

Artist, born in Cortona, C Italy. He studied in Rome and Paris, and signed the first Futurist manifesto in 1910. After 1914 he reverted to a more representational style, which he used in fresco and mosaic work, particularly in a number of Swiss and Italian churches. From 1940 onwards he adopted a decorative Cubist manner.

Gino Severini (April 7, 1883 – February 26, 1966), was an Italian painter and a leading member of the Futurist movement. His work was influenced by Cubism and in 1921 he published a book Du Cubisme au Classicisme. In the 1920s his style became more traditional and he did several decorative commissions, including murals for churches in Switzerland.
