Hagar

Biblical character, the maid of Sarah (the wife of Abraham). Due to Sarah's barrenness, Abraham had a son Ishmael by Hagar (Gen 16), but Hagar and her son were later expelled into the wilderness by Abraham after Isaac's birth (Gen 21).
