Alexander (of Yugoslavia) I

King of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (1921–9), then King of Yugoslavia (1929–34), born in Cetinje, Montenegro, the second son of Peter I. He tried to build up a strong and unified Yugoslavia, imposing a royal dictatorship in 1929, but was assassinated in Marseille.
