Alexander of Tralles

Byzantine physician, born in Tralles, Lydia. He practised in Rome, where he wrote his Twelve Books on Medicine, a major work on pathology which was current for several centuries in Latin, Greek, and Arabic.

Alexander of Tralles, Alexander Trallianus, (c. 525 – c.605) was a Greek physician born in Tralles in Lydia (now Turkey). The Greek text of one of his works was printed in Paris in 1548 and his De Lumbricis at Venice in 1570.
