heptathlon - World Record, Top 10 performers

A multi-event track-and-field competition discipline for women, consisting of seven events held over two consecutive days; (first day) 100 m hurdles, shot put, high jump, 200 m; (second day) long jump, javelin, and 800 m. It replaced the pentathlon in 1981.The world record of 7291 points was set by Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee (1962– ) of the USA, at Seoul, South Korea, in 1988.
